Michaelmas Daisy, Aster callistephus. I would love to know why some plant centers are yellow and others red.

Clitocybe gigantea (Giant Clitocybe)
Most recent comment: Sunday, September 7th, 2008 at 15:05:04
I believe this is a Clitocybe gigantea (Giant Clitocybe). It was growing under a tree in a small bit of grass behind the motion capture studio at Electronic Arts Canada.
Hi John.....Yes, I do believe your specimen is likely Clitocybe gigantea, though in your posted pic
I cannot tell for sure if the gills are decurrent or what the scale of size is (good to include a
common coin in the captures for this purpose and an inverted cap/stem as well.) I just ran into a fair-sized group of this species myself yesterday at about 9700 Ft. elev. in Eaglesnest Wilderness in Summit County, Colorado, USA.
In spite of recent rather dry conditions, this cluster was found at the edge of a fallen log, on
the margin of a stand of Douglas fir adjacent to a grassy open meadow, consistent with reported
habitat.
I will be conducting microspical examination on my specimen soon and report back to you on the results when they become available. Mail be back with any comments you might have anent this or
any other matters mycological. Apparently this dialogue box will not accept a JPG photo attachment
of my own sample, but if you get back to me via my personal EM, I can forward an image to you if
you should like. Best of luck to you, Jeff

Garibaldi Lake
Most recent comment: Thursday, August 14th, 2008 at 05:26:46
This is a funny combination where the lake both receives shadows and reflects clouds. It's surprisingly uncommon.
This is an incredible photo. I just got back from a weekend car camping trip, and have really been thinking that I would like to do some more serious overnight backpacking hikes. You've inspired me! Thanks.

I love the little pink highlights on the edges of the pedals.
All most all the roses is beautiful but the white rose shows the dignity and respect to the world

This table has the best view ever. It's probably under snow for half the year and the drive up needs you to avoid the cows, but you can't beat the view.
this is a nice pick nic table where do you bye them

We were going to just drive on by, but at this point we were about 40 minutes from our resort and some people asked to go to the bathroom. While everyone was using the public bathroom, I stepped out and took a picture.
You spelled public, pubic. SWEET PICTURE THOUGH!!!

Two Grave Stone
Most recent comment: Friday, February 29th, 2008 at 05:24:44
The lack of last names confuses me.
Hi John: The graveyards are family plots, so the last name is probably on the entrance Lych gate (most likely Peter's family if my memory serves me correctly). I grew up close by. Great trip down memory lane. Thanks

It seemed funny to me that they had the mailboxes well before they had houses. These are the same mail boxes as my Parents house - I'm guessing they show up in most new developments.
Howdy,
I was reading an article in the Globe and Mail on rural super mailboxes and found YOUR posted picture here to be very helpful, and a rare find even via google.
Thanks for posting the picture,

Toll Bridge
Most recent comment: Thursday, January 17th, 2008 at 05:17:13
This kid setup a sign charging $1 for use of the bridge they built. Clever, but two problems. First the sign was in vietnamese so the tourists had no idea what she was on about. Second, the guides thought it was funny to flaunt the rules. I think she had a fun day though.
You write: This kid setup a sign charging $1 for use of the bridge they built.
Please correct it :
Kid charge 2,000.00 Dong (vietnam)to cross the bride ( Rate if change in time you took picture is about $US-100.00 is 1,600,000.00 Dong VN. Then 2,000.00 dongVN is about 1/5 dollar or 20 cents (not yet the quarter)
